Did you know that 27 vineyards and about sixty owners in the Walloon region produce wines under the PDO Côtes de Sambre et Meuse.
On Saturday, we welcome for our weekly tasting one of the finest representatives of the appellation…
“Ladies and Gentlemen… Domaine du Chenoy!
14 hectares of vines reign on this estate established in Emines since 2003 in the province of Namur. They are among the first to have planted the so-called “interspecific” grape varieties, which are more resistant to disease and better adapted to the Belgian climate.
On Saturday 26 November, three of the estate’s vintages will be tasted :
- The “Grand Chenoy” cuvée, a gastronomic red wine, made from a blend of Régent, Rondo and Pinotin grapes, aged in oak barrels. An elegant wine with notes of violets and leather on the nose, freshness, fruit and silky tannins on the palate.
- Cuvée Citadelle, a white wine made from Solaris, Bronner and Johanniter, fine and light. The nose reveals lime, exotic fruits and the mouth is lively and tasty.
- The Crémant “Perle de Wallonie” extra brut, in white. A sparkling wine made according to the traditional method in which we find the Johanniter, Helios, Bronner and Merzling grapes. The nose is floral, with white fruits and citrus fruits, the mouth is lively and fresh… just perfect for an aperitif!
